Known Problems

The following Shutterfly Upload problems have been reported:

Symptom:
Error dialog with

NSError Line 1: Document is empty … (Mac)

or

An internal error has occurred: Invalid at the top level of the document. (Windows)

is displayed.

When it occurs:
Most likely during login with Shutterfly, but it could happen during export, too.

Possible cause:
Your computer’s date and/or time are not set correctly.

Work-around:
Set your computer’s date and time to be within 15 minutes of the correct time.

Notes:
As of version 1.1, a more informative error message will be displayed.

Symptom:
Error dialog with

Problem connecting to https://ws.shutterfly.com
bad url

is displayed. A log file capturing the problem will show a “nil” password being passed during the log in process.

Platform:
Mac.

When it occurs:
After pressing the plug-in’s “Log In” button.

Possible cause:
After entering your password, you immediately clicked on the “Log In” button.

Work-around:
After entering your password, use the “Tab” key to exit the field, or press the “Export” button without logging in first.

Notes:
This behavior is expected when running on Macs and has been documented by Adobe. As a “Windows Guy”, I don’t know enough about the issue to know if it is a limitation with the Mac OS, Lightroom, or the Lightroom plug-in environment
